Obituary for Floyd Charles Smith

Floyd Charles Smith, age 76, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at 10:51 a.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at his home. He was born January 28, 1941, in Galena, Missouri, the son of Carl William and Verde (Edwards) Smith.

Floyd was a 1959 graduate of Galena High School, in Galena, Missouri and worked in the maintenance department for the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville. He enjoyed coon hunting and fishing and was of the Baptist faith.

On July 8, 1966, he married Wilma Hedrick in Aurora, Missouri.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wilma; three sons, Kevin Smith and his wife, Sheri, Stacy Smith and his wife, Kristy, and Jason Smith, all of Marionville; five grandchildren, Ryan, Colby, Tyler, Kristlyn and Kierstan Smith; one sister, Inez Rice of Galena, Missouri; one brother, Claude Smith of Kansas City, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, Carl and Verde, brother, Bob Smith and two sisters, Lola Gregg and Georgie Baker, preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri. Burial will follow at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
