Obituary for Maydean Werdein

Maydean Werdein, age 92, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville, Missouri. She was born February 11, 1926 in Aurora, the daughter of Armand and Kathryn Eloise (Gee) Jennings.

Maydean was a 1944 graduate of Aurora High School, and along with her husband, Edward, they owned and operated the Aurora Greenhouses for 42 years. Edward was the third generation to own the greenhouses. Maydean was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.

On December 7, 1948, she married Edward Earl Werdein, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Maydean is survived by her husband of 69 years, Edward; three daughters, Vickie Lawson and her husband, Brent, of Aurora, Kathy Boucher and her fiancée, Mike Weldy, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Sherri Stroud and her husband, Terry, of Aurora; eight grandchildren, Aaron McRoberts and his wife, Shevaun, Jason McRoberts, Nicholas McRoberts, Rachel Wrinkle and her husband, Matthew, Matthew Lawson and his wife, Genesis, Shelly Russo and her husband, Tom, Ruston Boucher and Joshua Werdein; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Carole Jennings of Aurora and Eva Stephens of Atlanta, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Armand and Kathryn, sister, Martha Lou Schweitzer and two brothers, Paul Leroy Jennings and William Jennings, preceded her in death.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018, at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
