Obituary for Charles George Steward

Charles George Steward, age 84, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 12:38 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at his home. He was born November 30, 1933, in Glen Cove, New York, the son of Charles and Emma (Howell) Steward.

Charles was a United States Navy Veteran and worked as a Chef in Florida before moving to Aurora where he was the kitchen manager for the TA Truck Stop in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Charles loved collecting guns and restoring old west relics.

On October 24, 1986, he married Margaret Louise Whittemore in Springfield, Missouri. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2005.

Charles is survived by three daughters, Denise Steward of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Penny Fly and her husband, Kevin, and Vickie Steward-Hartin and her husband, Graham, all of Aurora; two sons, Michael Steward and his wife, Jennie, of South Hampton, New York and Robert Steward of Fort Meyers, Florida; one stepdaughter, Karen Bellospirito, of Monett, Missouri; two brothers, William Steward and his wife, Margie, and Johnny Steward all of Long Island, New York; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His parents, Charles and Emma, wife, Margaret, two sons, Steven and Charlie Steward, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
